It's an exciting time to be part of this respected natural gas company, as they lead the way in generating sustainable energy solutions for Australian’s and international markets. To support with their gas field development plans, an immediate requirement has arisen for an experienced Civil Project Engineer to support with the site construction activities – specifically the ‘gas well head pad’ and associated infrastructure.
 
You will find yourself rotating to site on a 10/4 roster from Brisbane. The core function of this position is to coordinate the execution of engineering and construction activities within the project team and facilitate communication between the company and contractor during the construction and commissioning phases.
 
Key duties within your role:

• Coordinate the engineering and construction elements of the project to ensure that the Company’s technical performance and integrity requirements are met;
• Contribute to the project strategy, project execution plan, contract strategy and management systems for project delivery;
• Manage project interfaces and relationships with partners and key stakeholders within engineering and construction disciplines;
• Ensure readiness for commissioning and handover is planned and agreed with the operations function;
• Interface with the assigned contractor personnel as appropriate to optimise the project outcomes;
• Undertake a monthly review of the progress in relation to the assigned Project elements and provide a summary report to the relevant Managers.

 
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Educated to first degree, or equivalent, in civil engineering discipline;
• Hold an RPEQ – highly desirable
• Able to apply appropriate technical standards to deliver technical and execution requirements;
• Able to apply HSSE principles across all project technical activities;
• Understands the impact of strategic considerations on business decisions and has contributed to negotiations with contractors;
