Chemring Australia is a leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of high quality energetic materials and products for the defence and safety markets. CHA is part of Chemring Group, a global operation specialising in the manufacture of countermeasures, sensors and electronics, and energetic systems for the defence industry.
We are currently seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to support the deployment of the group Operational Excellence Program with a key focus upon the delivery of projects and automation upgrades to reduce costs and improve machine availability.
You will use your specialised knowledge to maintain and improve our automated production facility and to design, develop, implement, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
This role will be positioned as the business lead on all Electrical Services with a specific focus on electrical safety compliance including Hazardous Areas, Static Electricity and Lighting Protection.

The Successful Applicant
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
- Tertiary level qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working within the automation industry
- Understanding of Project Management principles
- Intermediate level in MS Excel
- Understanding of Lean/6sigma Manufacturing methodology (desirable)
- Understanding of electrical installations in explosive atmospheres, static electricity controls and lightning protection (desirable)
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
