An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Development Project Manager to join our Ellex Medical team. This role will be responsible for successfully managing product development projects and leading multi-disciplined engineering teams. Projects may involve the full product development life cycle from requirements gathering through to transfer to production, or a part of that process. Central to this role is also the assistance in establishing project management methods and processes as well as providing the technical interface between the project team and other departments within the company.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage assigned projects to successful completion including agreed goals, objectives and budgets
• Develop effective project plans including work breakdown structures, schedules and budgets and other planning documents
• Transfer project output data to the product manufacturing team
• Develop highly effective linkages between Engineering and other business functions (eg. Manufacturing, Finance, Supply Chain, Product Management & Marketing)
• Apply established project management methodologies towards planning, execution, monitoring and reporting and completion of projects
• Apply a strong focus towards technical and general project risk management and implements effective risk management strategies
• Provides regular project status reports based on meaningful metrics and presented in a clear and concise manner
• Develops project schedules and provides regular updates based on project progress
• Establishes and tracks the project budget including Capex

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Engineering degree in either mechanical, electronic, software or systems engineering
• 5+ years of New Product Implementation experience within engineering roles
• Demonstrated project management experience of development projects coupled with hands-on approach to project management
• Ability to draft reports, documents and agreements
• Knowledge and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools and Microsoft Project experience
• Knowledge of Earned Value project management will be highly regarded   
• Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary (Software, Electronics, Mechanics and Optical) design team is highly desirable
• Proven knowledge and proficiency in the use of requirements management tools would be would be a distinct advantage
