We are currently seeking an Engineer or Senior Engineer to join our Mains Standards and Specifications department of Asset Management in Port Macquarie to build on our Underground Cabling expertise across the business. If you have strong analytical skills, are self-motivated, are diverse in your thinking and have a passion for Underground Cabling we would love to hear from you! Proven experience, preferably in a regional utility provider, and 10 years postgraduate engineering experience is desired.

Senior Engineer

The Senior Engineer is responsible for managing the development of broad plans, budgets, and strategies specifically related to underground cabling systems within the Energy Network. This position requires extensive experience in an Energy/Electrical engineering role and a complete knowledge of current network design philosophies, statutory requirements and safety procedures.  You will be able to demonstrate analytical and technical capabilities in managing engineering issues both planned and unplanned. You will be a strong communicator with sound interpersonal skills and the ability to time manage, plan and exercise a high degree of detail in all service output.

An ongoing awareness of industry developments is required, allowing the identification and implementation of relevant technology advancements, as applicable in the design and planning of underground cabling systems.

The Senior Engineer will also be responsible for strategic technical evaluations and implementation of agreed plans across a range of technical functions, including development of new criteria and applications of knowledge and procedures across the Energy Network. The role will also require project management responsibility for the evaluation, design of programs of work, and validation of equipment and systems.

Engineer

The Engineer is responsible for the identification, and detailed research into designs, preparations and planning related to underground cabling systems. The Engineer will also be responsible for strategic technical evaluations and implementation of agreed plans across a range of technical functions, including development of new criteria and applications of knowledge and procedures across the Energy Network. The role will also require project management responsibility for the evaluation, design of programs of work, and validation of equipment and systems and managing the development of broad plans, budgets and strategies. 

This position requires experience in an Energy/Electrical engineering role and a complete knowledge of current network design philosophies, statutory requirements and safety procedures.  You will be able to demonstrate analytical and technical capabilities in managing engineering issues both planned and unplanned. You will be a strong communicator with sound interpersonal skills and the ability to time manage, plan and exercise a high degree of detail in all service output.

Appointment at either the Engineer or Senior Engineer level will be based on candidate’s knowledge and experience. To be considered for either role, you must have a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent to satisfy graduate membership to the Institution of Engineers Australia.  A driver’s licence and WorkCover Induction Certificate is essential.
