We have recently expanded our Flooding and Drainage team in Newcastle. However, we now seek an additional flooding and drainage engineer to further enhance our capacity. With a healthy project pipeline continuing through 2018 and beyond, our NSW projects include Highways, Rail infrastructure, Defence bases, Energy facilities, and Resources developments. We also collaborate closely with other Aurecon offices to share work and knowledge.
This role will suit an engineer who has gained sufficient skills and knowledge to now work with some independence, whilst still under the guidance of a senior engineer.
We seek a technically strong candidate for a role that will involve:
- Completion of detailed hydrologic and hydraulic modelling tasks
- Preparation of reports and presentation of results
- Contribution to the development of innovative solutions
- Integration of leading digital techniques
- Working within a highly motivated team of engineers on a range of infrastructure projects
To be successful you will demonstrate the following qualities and characteristics:
- A passion to develop leading technical expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling & design.
- Relevant degree qualifications
- Previous flood modelling and drainage design project experience
- Hydrologic and hydraulic modelling skills
- General civil drainage analysis and design experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to use relevant software including:

- 1D & 2D flood modelling software - MIKE FLOOD, MIKE 21, MIKE 11, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS
- Hydrologic modelling software - RAFTS, RORB, URBS
- Urban drainage software- MIKE URBAN, DRAINS
- GIS, AutoCAD & 12D design skills
- MUSIC Modelling
- Water Balance Modelling
