About the role

We are seeking a talented and passionate mechanical engineer who enjoys the pursuit of innovative problem solving. This important role is all-encompassing, and responsibilities will range from idea conception, design, testing, analysis through to project management towards volume manufacture. We require an individual with multiple talents in areas including innovation, design using 3D CAD, engineering analytical capability, FEA and general knowledge of mechanical systems. Candidates with 1-3 years will be preferred, however the right candidate may be a graduate with demonstrated experience from study and extracurricular activity.  The right candidate for this role will have a genuine interest and passion for engineering.

Duties of this role include:

  • Lead the engineering and project management of one or more of our development projects
  • Provide mechanical engineering expertise to difficult and novel mechanical systems
  • Design, model and analyse new components and assemblies using 3D CAD and FEA software
  • Provide engineering direction on machining, materials selection and manufacturing process for prototyping and production level components
  • Perform physical duties such as prototype testing and detailed assembly of mechanisms
  • Support and contribute within a talented engineering team
  • Provide engineering assistance to our production facilities and other areas of the business as needed.

Skills and experience

  • Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer with either a Bachelor or Master's Degree
  • 1-3 years' professional experience is desirable but not essential
  • Experience using 3D design software is essential and experience with Creo/ProE is preferred
  • FEA analysis and simulation experience essential
  • Possess a genuine interest and passion for mechanical engineering, design and problem solving
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
