An outstanding opportunity exists to join a global market leader and dominant force in the Australian gaming market. IGT is the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of gaming products and systems. IGT Australia provides a range of gaming products, systems and services to the Club, Hotel and Casino industries.
The APAC Systems Services organization is in need of an experienced Systems Engineer to join our Sydney based team. The candidate will be a professional who has experience providing project coordination and logistics administration involving the installation of system products including, machine interfaces, computer equipment and peripherals. Advanced technical skills to design, co-ordinate, build and deliver in the System environment is required. The role also involves providing 1st and 2nd level customer support, administration and reporting to customers.
Responsibilities include:
- Undertaking audits of smaller gaming venues to determine the scope and most effective approach to delivering the necessary technical infrastructure to support the installation of IGT systems.
- Liaising with customers and prospective customers.
- Working with Project Manager/Team Leader to ensure that technical installation activities are coordinated as part of the overall project implementation.
- Assist the Systems Support group in trouble shooting and resolving IGT Systems issues.
- Design and Build the Systems infrastructure environments for each implementation.
- Assist in planning to ensure that the installation and cut-over to the IGT system is achieved on-time, on-budget and with a high degree of quality and therefore customer satisfaction
- Assist with updating and managing sbNexGen content and product development.
- Engage with IGT Service personnel and/or 3rd party contract service personnel to provide the necessary resourcing to implement the planned installation.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
- Must be able to obtain gaming licenses.
- Good working knowledge of (similar) hardware and software applications.
- Experience in technical support.
- Superior analytical and creative problem solving skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication with proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Preferred Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of Windows 2008/2012, Linux/Ubuntu, SQL Server 2008/2012/2014, RabbitMQ
- Working knowledge of switching and routing, Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, VLANs
- Working knowledge of ESXi VMWare infrastructure, provisioning VMs
