You'll be working with the R&D department for the Department of Defence (Defence Science Technology Group, DTSG) in Fishermans Bend.
The Role...
You will be involved in a variety of test and evaluation activities for the qualification and evaluation of the future submarine pressure hull steel. These activities would include, but not limited to, explosion bulge testing, dynamic tear and Pellini drop weight testing, and ductility tests (e.g. Z tensile test).
Extensive development, evaluation and qualification process for the steel plate and forgings is required to ensure that the structural integrity of the submarine pressure hull is adequate.
You Will Need...
- Australian Citizenship
- Experience in the mechanical testing of metallic materials
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or equivalent
- Skills in metallography and fractography
