The Role

This role will be based in Port Douglas. Reporting to the Project Director, in this role you will be assisting the Project Director to manage all maintenance works, provide infrastructure support and site project support.  You will offer advice to the management team in all maintenance works on site. You will be responsible to manage expenses and review cost controls in the relevant areas.  This is a fast paced, hands-on role for an ambitious candidate looking to grow with a fast-growing business.

Responsibilities are not limited to:

  • Act as the first point of contact for repairs and services for all machinery, equipment, system and infrastructures.
  • Carry out audits and daily inspections on equipment, grounds, buildings and other facilities on site
  • Oversee and lead the implementations of the facility management system to achieve continuous improvement on site
  • Manage all related maintenance expenses on site
  • Manage and keep record of inventory supplies and equipment
  • Diagnose faults and keep record of maintenance register
  • Work closely with the onsite management team and chair weekly asset meeting
  • Build a trusted relationship with all external stakeholders and coordinate with contractors or suppliers to perform any repairs or maintenance work as required
  • Prepare and deliver reports to the management as required
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety legislation

Your Profile

You will ideally have 4 years experiences in the similar role and strong technical skills.   You need to be a team player and able to work under pressure.  You have to think outside the box and make decisions based on needs and budget concerns.   Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate with all stakeholders in a professional manner. You will also need to be analytical, passionate, professional and a great negotiator.

This role requires a practical individual who is able to work well within a small team, whilst also being able to work autonomously.
