Due to ongoing project demands and our desire to expand our capabilities, we are looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Melbourne Infrastructure team. At Calibre our ethos is to develop local relationships with clients while leveraging our national and international expertise to deliver on projects. Our current portfolio of projects range from the small, medium sized to large across a number of markets, affording our team the freedom and flexibility to develop well rounded professional skills and work on some of our region’s interesting projects.

As Structural Engineer you will;

  • Assume responsibility of small, medium and large scale projects. This will include: cost estimates, tender submissions, technical documentation, project scheduling and meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Be responsible for tender submissions, technical documentation, project scheduling and meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Ensuring engineering activities are performed in accordance with the project requirements and Calibre’s technical standards.
  • Prepare preliminary and detailed designs, specifications and documentation for all projects.
  • Actively promote and continuously communicate on the best engineering practices both in the project, the broader business and the marketplace
  • Develop, improve and implement review mechanisms to capture and execute improvements to the quality of work produced.
  • Apply a solid understanding of Engineering principles to devise and deliver practical and economical solutions to problems.
  • Effectively managing resources, including staff.
  • Professionally commercially manage projects to ensure sustainable profitability and performance.

Ideally, you will possess;

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years in a relevant field of experience.
  • Experience in local road and rail infrastructure advantageous.
  • An interest in developing your business acumen and skillset into a leadership role.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standard structural engineering analysis and design software packages.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant industry codes of practice.
