The role

We have an opportunity for an experienced System Maintenance Specialist to join our professional team in Sydney. The specialist will, as part of a team, provide technical service, ongoing support and maintenance of the tolling systems. You will be actively involved in preparing, monitoring and executing the preventative and routine maintenance of the equipment. You will also undertake fault diagnosis, repair, installation and enhancements to all toll collection equipment which includes the documentation of fault reports and repairs.

Your tasks will involve:

  • Maintain product manuals including records of associated malfunctions;
  • Comply with relevant standards in relation to Engineering, OH&S and Electrical;
  • Assist with the administration of internal systems and systems built for client installations;
  • Provide technical service support to the ongoing maintenance and continual operations of the tolling systems;
  • Complete all paperwork associated with maintenance and repair work carried out (including spares used) and records management;
  • Track, manage and report on maintenance issues, both internally to management and externally to customers and organise part repairs either in-house or externally;
  • Manage a system via a command line interface;
  • Hands-on approach to problem solving whilst possessing superior fault-finding skills; use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of issues, solutions, conclusions and approaches to problems;
  • Identify and permanently rectify equipment faults ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements;
  • Must be available for 24 hour on-call duties on a shared roster as required;
  • Maintain tools, spare parts and the general cleanliness of maintenance workshops and offices; 
  • Work in conjunction with Installation and Commissioning Engineers for Project Works; and
  • Maintain a good understanding of computer hardware for repair and analysis of faulty parts whilst being a competent IT user, Microsoft suite, Windows & general network configuration.

About you

You will be expected to utilise your previous knowledge and fault-finding skills in the maintenance of electronic tolling equipment. Training will be provided on the specialised equipment and maintenance tasks will be assigned to you once you are familiar with the supported systems.

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

  • Current Australian driver’s licence;
  • Knowledge of computer hardware for repair and analysis of faulty parts whilst being a competent IT user, Microsoft suite, Windows & general network configuration;
  • Hands-on and superior fault-finding skills in electronic equipment and IT;
  • Electronics skills in fault finding and assembly and soldering of electronic boards;
  • IT competent (Databases, Windows, Linux, Microsoft, Networking); and
  • Qualified and Licensed as electrician.
