About the business

Leicon Notley are a multi disciplined design and construct engineering contractor in the Western Australian water infrastructure market. We are an industry leader in the successful implementation of technically and managerially complex engineering construction projects.

We perform design and construction projects throughout the state in all forms of water infrastructure including borefields, water and wastewater treatment plants, chemical dosing, tanks, pipelines and associated works.

As a result of company growth we are looking for a Design/Project Engineer to further expand our capabilities.

Responsibilities for the role include:

• Development of detailed designs including general arrangements and sections, P&ID's, pumping and pipework calculations, equipment specifications etc.
• Ensuring the design fully complies with the project contract documents
• Specification and purchase of technical equipment including review of vendor documentation
• Technical document writing
• Oversight of drafting activities and checking and sign off technical drawings
• Liaise with clients and cross discipline consultants
• Liaise with internal project managers, workshop and site based staff.
• Ability to liaise with project managers and draftspersons
• Technical tendering support
• Testing and commissioning support

Skills and experience

Successful candidates will typically possess:

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Of the order of 2-5 years experience in a design role.
• Past experience with, or desire to, work in multi-disciplined projects
• Experience with Water and Waste Water Treatment Plant and  water industry generally preferred
• Ability to work independently with limited guidance for more standard design tasks
• A clear desire to work in the water/wastewater space
• An enthusiastic, flexible and keen attitude is a must
