Position
The Control Systems Engineer is an expert in the field of Fixed Plant Control Systems. You will support the business in meeting its objectives by delivering innovative yet stable and reliable projects across the supply chain.
Reporting to the Senior Control Systems Engineer, within the Engineering Projects team your duties will include:
- Providing expert guidance and technical support as part of project design and commissioning teams to ensure business requirements are realised
- The design, development, testing and commissioning of control system solutions for risk reduction, improvement and optimisation projects across the fleet of fixed plant assets
- Supporting ICAM investigations and delivery of sustainable engineering controls
- Ensuring projects adhere to control system standards and are the right solution for the business
- Occasional site travel to oversee projects and to liaise with stakeholders
Skills and Experience
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualification in Control System Engineering, Process Control Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline
- A minimum of 5 years relevant post-qualification control system experience working with Industrial Networks, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric, Siemens and GE with reference to their Industrial Process Control systems (PLC’s, SCADA, Networks, Software and peripheral devices)
- Registration with Engineers Australia preferred but not essential
- TUV Functional Safety Engineer certification preferred
- Proven record of accomplishment in control systems design, development, testing and commissioning for large scale bulk handling operations, encompassing automated train loadouts, car dumpers, stackers, reclaimers and ship loaders operations.
- Experience in the application of a broad range of process control and optimisation techniques within the mining and resource industry
- Thorough understanding of industrial instrumentation and communication protocol and topologies
- Good technical communication, problem solving skills and understanding of root cause analysis techniques
- Minimum of C class manual drivers licence
