THE ROLE
Hushpak is seeking a dynamic mechanical engineer with strong commercial and technical skills and practical site experience, who wants to develop their career within a small but rapidly growing organisation. The successful candidate will work with our strong client base within the mining and manufacturing sectors to deliver solutions to challenging noise and vibration problems.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the role will involve the following key activities:
- Developing solutions to challenging noise and vibration problems in a mining or heavy industry context and assisting in the design process.
- Working with customers to understand their needs and ensure successful project delivery.
- Developing new and existing customer relationships.
- Estimating project costs and preparation of tenders and quotations.
- Negotiating contracts and purchase orders for the supply of Hushpak products and services.
- Liaising with design and operations personnel to clarify customer requirements and to ensure commitments are achievable.
- Practical, hands on involvement in resolving site issues and overseeing site works related to Hushpak products.
- Conducting on site noise tests and preparing technical reports.
- Working in accordance with the Hushpak work health and safety management system.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful, you will possess the following:
- Mechanical Engineering degree
- Minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- Solid skills in engineering investigations and problem solving
- Demonstrated practical background in engineering and experience in project management and contract administration
- Ability to manage customer relationships
- A current driver’s licence
- A knowledge of machine acoustics. Enrolment in an approved acoustic training course would be encouraged to enable you to work competently in the acoustics field.
