The Opportunity
This is a rare, exciting contract opportunity for a qualified, experienced Civil Project Engineer with DTMR and Intersection experience to take up a contract role with a well-established civil construction company. The successful Project Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the continuous support of project management, ensuring that quality assurance is maintained throughout all projects, according to contractual obligations, legislation and the company’s policies and procedures. As per the project timeline, you must be available to commence by mid-August, for at least a 5-6 month duration, or possibly longer. The project location is based just outside of Cairns, QLD.
Previous experience working as a Civil Project Engineer, specifically on road intersection upgrades is highly sought after. This project will see you work closely with the Project Manager and civil construction project team across a broad range of tasks including:
- Participating & maintaining Integrated Management System audits, review all audit reports & corrective action processes;
- Determining project specifications through careful study, design and cost estimates;
- Proposal reviews & allocation of resources
- Collating Quality Assurance documentation & preparing project status reports;
- Carrying out project risk assessments, developing project management plans & developing workplace procedures; &
- Participate in the tender writing process by constructing project plans, writing methodologies, quantity take off and acquiring quotes.
Demonstrated experience in all of the above areas are essential to be considered. Your success will be measured by your ability to: rectify design issues in a timely manner, in accordance with Department of Main Roads specifications; monitor, review and collate all handover documentations through project timeline to completion; and reporting as per contractual obligations.
About You
To be considered for this Civil Engineer role, you meet all of the following criteria, qualifications and experience:
- Australian Engineering Degree or Engineering degree equivalent recognized by by the Institute of Engineers Australia;
- A minimum of 3 years of cumulative Australian, engineering experience working on roads or intersection projects;
- Completion of Traffic Management - Level 3 certificate is desirable;
- Proven experience working effectively as part of a project team as a project engineer, supporting project manager and site supervisor;
- Valid Construction Blue or White card CPCCOHS1001A or equivalent;
- Excellent communications skills, strong MS Office suite knowledge;
- Full Australian work rights; and
- Willingness to undertake a medical pre-employment check prior to commencing
