We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Power Systems Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for supporting the Project Leader and PM's during the execution of power plant projects for renewable energy, for authorisations and permits for the construction of the grid connection. This role is mainly based at our Sydney office.

Your duties include:

• Provide technical support to BD department in interconnections, feasibility studies, costs, etc. for proposed projects and assist in filing grid connection applications.
• Supporting and cooperation with Engineering & Construction Units during the execution phase of Renewable Projects for authorization and permits for grid connection, applying project management best practices.
• To ensure a detailed and complete knowledge of the local legislation and regulations in terms of grid connection, in order to produce guidelines and tools for planning, organizing, executing and controlling the related project activities.
• To support the Project Teams performing risk analysis and defining preventive/corrective actions to be taken with reference to grid connection, in order to keep the projects on schedule;
• To issue periodical reports in order to monitor and control the activities related to grid connection of different projects;
• To share best practices and lessons learned about grid connection of Power Plants within the Company, locally and worldwide.

About you:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree qualification preferably in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering disciplines
• At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in management of projects in Engineering and/or Construction
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, manage, and interact effectively with multidisciplinary and multinational teams as well as electrical power utilities, consulting engineers and vendors. 
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact in local and international contexts
• Project managemen skills through tools such as typical Gantt chart, risk assessment, responsibility matrix etc.
• Familiarity with AEMO and Distribution/Transmission Owner structure in Australia
• Experience in interconnection application
• Experience in medium and high voltage engineering connection works
• Knowledgeable of Grid Interconnection Studies; System Impact, Facilities, Fault, Loss, Relay Coordination, and others
• Knowledgeable of software for Grid Interconnection Studies; System Impact, Facilities, Fault, Loss, Relay Coordination, and others
• Regular driver’s license required
• Available for Domestic travel with some international travel when required
