Carbon Revolution is a rapidly growing automotive technology company that is commercialising the world's first volume production carbon fibre wheels for automotive and aerospace applications. The technology is proprietary to the company and has been developed through close partnerships with major research and technology organisations. Vehicle manufacturers globally are now moving rapidly to access this technology both for its efficiency benefits and its marketing impact. The first major OEM programs are now well underway and already released. Applications for the aerospace and industrial sectors are also planned. Carbon Revolution intends to develop the manufacturing capacity to a scale and efficiency level that will establish this as a replacement technology for conventional metallic components on a mass scale.

The role:

This is a newly created position to support the rapid growth of Carbon Revolution and to drive continuous improvement of the manufacturing process.

The role will entail:

  • Development and implementation of new manufacturing processes to increase manufacturing throughput, improve OEE and part quality
  • Implementation of purpose built process equipment and tooling from concept through to production ensuring all safety, quality and throughput targets are met
  • Planning and implementing major expansion of production capacity including upgrading and duplicating processes
  • Ensuring projects are completed on time and budget
  • Develop and implement process control documentation including traceability and quality metrics for current and new manufacturing processes
  • Establish and maintain training documentation and training of production operators for new processes
  • Establish and maintain OEE tracking of key equipment.

You: 

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer (min 5 years' experience) with a demonstrated track record of working in automotive, automotive supply chain component manufacturer or a similar manufacturing environment. You will have a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and experience in delivering special purpose machinery to high volume production to automotive or aerospace standards. Experience in with Fanuc Industrial Robots and CNC machining of composite materials and experience in all methods of surface preparation prior to painting with composite materials (e.g. Abrasive blasting and manual preparation) and Painting is desirable.

 

You will demonstrate:

  • Sound industrial engineering knowledge
  • Detailed knowledge of composite and/or automotive manufacturing techniques
  • The ability to deliver complete process to production that meets all production, safety, quality targets
  • The ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Competence in managing multiple projects and budget management
  • Proficiency in drafting using 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred though not essential)
  • A hands on and flexible approach.
