Reinstatement Officer - Roads Unit (Technical) is needed for a northern suburbs local government council to undertake inspections of the council’s road and footpath network to meet the requirements of the road management act and other council programs, monitor reinstatement works on council assets to ensure works are to council standards, undertake supervision of service authorities and others undertaking works within road reserves to ensure activities comply with council requirement, investigate requests by residents to determine if remedial works are required, and of insurance claims for council’s insurance provider. As well as building relationships with key stakeholders such as service authorities and their contractors with excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to present clear and concise reports.

The role is to start ASAP until Dec.

Key selection criteria 

• Demonstrated knowledge of road maintenance techniques
• Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of inspections relating to road and footpath conditions
• Demonstrated experience in M.S. Office software.
• Communication, Writing and numeric skills.
• Demonstrated Customer Service skills
• A current Victorian Drivers Licence (Mandatory).
• Planning and organisational skills
• Ability to work unsupervised as well as in a team.
• Ability to undertake the physical requirements for performing inspections.
• Ability to read and understand maps including, storm water drainage plans and construction drawings
• Ability to communicate in a second language (desirable)
• A valid visa to work and live in Australia.
