Reporting directly to the department manager, you will be responsible for the testing and documentation of custom wiring and mechanical bracket designs, on road vehicle testing, fabrication of test equipment for incoming products and the creation of installation guides and other documentation as required. You will benefit from a strong internal team with coaching, mentoring and networking along with interactions with customers, distributors & dealers.
Responsibilities includes but not limited to;
- Coordinate daily workshop operations
- Assist in the development of automotive electrical systems
- Build and test electrical looms with consultation with engineers
- Evaluate the feasibility of concepts and/or prototypes through testing and analysis, consistent with customer expectations
- Testing of sample developmental product
- Design and produce custom installation kits
To be considered for this position, you will be trade or tertiary qualified as an automotive technician, test/development/mechanical engineer or auto electrician who is looking for a technical development and testing role within a growing technology. Ideally you will bring experience within either tier 1 automotive, the auto electrical trade and/or development engineering integrating electrical and/or communication components. You will have a strong creative mindset, mechanical aptitude, can visualise solutions and form a plan on how to achieve them. It is also expected that you are an active team player who possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
Candidates that have either worked in the automotive harness manufacturing sector and/or have a truck license (for on road testing purposes), will be highly regarded.
