Our Infrastructure Services division operates three business units: Road Services; Infrastructure Projects and Utilities. As we continue our evolution of growth and innovation, the best people are critical to our success in supporting our customers and catering to market demands.
Downer Utilities has been successful in securing and delivering a number of exciting large scale Power Infrastructure projects and has one of the largest Australian in-house design teams for Power and Renewables covering design, construction, commissioning and maintenance stages of projects.
With the increased workload in Power and Renewables projects, we are seeking to appoint an experienced Design Manager for our Melbourne office. The primary responsibility of the Design Manager will be to plan, deliver and close-out engineering outputs of tenders and projects. The role includes tracking budget and schedule, allocation of resources, coordination and management of team members and sub-consultants according to the Project Management and Design Management Plans.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in the management of varied design projects including delivery of full detailed design scopes, preferably within the Renewable sector. Experience in managing the performance of internal engineering and drafting personnel and managing external sub-consultants will be highly regarded as would experience in commissioning, construction and operation.
ABOUT YOU
- Relevant Tertiary Qualifications, Construction awareness and regulatory accreditation
- Demonstrated experience in design and construction of Renewable projects (preferably Wind)
- Demonstrated capability to deliver complex, multi discipline Engineering and construction projects on time and budget with acceptable quality standards and experience with related project controls principals
