About the opportunity - 12 month fixed term.
The Engineer Pipelines is responsible for providing engineering and technical services to deliver outcomes that ensure the continued supply of gas to Jemena's customers.
You will apply technical and engineering standards and policies for plant, materials, equipment and services, including preventative measures, engineering assessments, condition monitoring and failure investigations for the strategic management of all gas pipelines and equipment.
Key to this role will be ensuring safety, reliability, integrity and long term value of the Pipelines gas asset class is maintained and congruent with the asset class strategy.
Key activities include:
- Provide technical advice and bring best practices in engineering to the design, operations and management of the asset.
- Develop engineering assessments defining the issue and provide solutions that address risk, cost and quality.
- Develop and maintain appropriate technical specifications and Standards to ensure compliance to Australian Standards.
- Develop Options Analysis papers for managing and maintaining the integrity of existing assets as well as for new or improved assets, materials, equipment, etc.
- Provide project support throughout the project life cycle.
As the successful candidate you will bring the following skills and experience with you:
- Degree in Engineering with qualifications entitling membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia.
- Demonstrated experience in asset management and providing technical expertise.
- Current knowledge of design standards, pipeline integrity techniques and technical developments in gas pipeline materials.
- Well developed knowledge and understanding of AS2885 pipelines and operational techniques.
