Warren Shire Council has a sustainable budget and works towards maintaining a zero-based bottom line and prides itself as being a fit for the future Council financially. Council is looking for a capable and self-motivated person for the role of Manager Roads Infrastructure to manage the associated engineering functions of Council with an emphasis on creating and sustaining a culture of continual improvement, innovation and efficiency.

You will lead and develop Council’s roads and other project areas to provide quality and cost-effective services in the areas of road construction and maintenance and town improvements. You will work closely with dedicated staff and Councillors to develop long term outcomes for the community.

The remuneration for this position is to be negotiated depending on experience and shall include the civil liability allowances. Vehicle with full private usage is available. A Council house will be available at a subsidised rent if required.

To be successful in this position, you will possess the following skills and/or experience:

  • A relevant Degree or Diploma in Engineering, allowing membership to the Engineering Institution of Australia or Institution of Public Works Engineering Australia or similar body, and/or with extensive Local Government engineering experience.
  • Class ‘C’ Drivers Licence.
  • Extensive experience in civil engineering administration works, particularly civil infrastructure, construction, design, contracting and tendering practices.
  • Have a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a senior engineer.
  • Experience in a local government environment would be advantageous with knowledge of local government legislation, standards and regulations.
