Design World-Leading Technology

Attractive Remuneration & Lifestyle Location

Global Industry Leader & Growing

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global industry leader and play a role in the continued development of its world-leading technology, while enjoying the lifestyle benefits that only South East Queensland can offer.

Established for thirty-three years and admitted into the Australian Export Awards Hall of Fame in 2009 our Toowoomba-based client, Russell Mineral Equipment Pty Ltd (RME), is the acknowledged world leader in grinding Mill Relining Systems. As an original equipment manufacturer, RME’s core competencies include quality design and manufacture as well as global distribution, after-sales service and mill relining services; with the organisation supporting customers on all continents.

Integral to the ongoing development of the organisation's technology suite, the opportunity now exists for an experienced Engineer to play a key role in the design, modelling and testing of mechatronic systems associated with high-quality mining-related equipment.

Reporting to a Senior Engineer, in this role you will work collaboratively with other members of the Engineering Team and be directly engaged in complex engineering applications, including: developing novel solutions to industrial problems utilising mechanical and electronic processes and computer technology; designing, developing, managing and maintaining high-technology engineering systems for the automation of industrial tasks; applying advanced control systems (typically computer operated); applying electronic and mechanical processes and computers to tasks where the use of human labour may present hazards; studying feasibility, cost and performance benefits of new mechatronic equipment; carrying out modelling, simulation and analysis of complex mechanical, electronic or other engineering systems through the use of specialised software; and associated monitoring, evaluation, reporting and improvement.

Experience (preferably 2+ years) in a quality design engineering environment, sound understanding and experience with control theory (including programming experience with controllers and/or PLCs), and proficiency with a 3D modelling (preferably SolidWorks) application is required. Knowledge and experience with hydraulic design, detailed Finite Element Analysis and systems analysis and evaluation would be a distinct advantage.

A degree qualification in Mechatronics Engineering, Infomechatronics or related discipline is required.

Our client is an equal opportunity employer. Candidates who have submitted an application within the last twelve months need not apply.

Situated on the edge of the picturesque Great Dividing Range, less than 1.5 hours west of Brisbane and only two hours from both the Gold and Sunshine Coasts, and with daily flights direct to Sydney and Melbourne, the 'garden city' of Toowoomba is one of South East Queensland’s best kept secrets. This thriving regional community, Australia’s largest inland provincial city with 160,000 residents, offers affordable housing, world-class health, education, recreation and cultural facilities.
