Tender Engineering Solution Architect - Rail Systems & Signalling

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Tender Engineering Solution Architect - Rail Systems & Signalling to join our Siemens Mobility team to work on Rail Systems Projects. Based in our Eight Mile Plains office in Brisbane, or our Docklands office in Melbourne,  the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within an area of the Siemens business that has immense market potential. 

This role is an expert in rail systems and engineering and will have engineering experience in a variety rail system projects, preferably as a Senior Signalling Engineer, and have both a broad and deep understanding of the many different system elements that make up a modern railway system.

The works as part of the Siemens Mobility Tender Engineering team to develop solutions to a wide range of rail systems tenders in Australia and New Zealand for a wide range of rail systems type projects; some small and relatively simple, others large scale complex rail system projects. They lead the effort for the analysis of the customer system requirements, coordination and definition of the architecture of the complete proposed system solution, formulation of system philosophies/architectures/interfaces, preparation of the technical offer documentation and other related tender engineering activities as needed for technical customer negotiations.

As part of the tender engineering team they will look for ways to improve the way tender engineering is carried out, always striving to improve the success ratio of submitted tenders. They will contribute to the development and adoption of consistent tender practices within the tender engineering team, and will ensure best practices, ideas and lessons learned from previous tenders are used to provide innovative best value for money solutions for each customer tender.

As needed they will act as the Tender Engineering interface for their areas of responsibility to the Customer, Siemens Management, other bid teams, R&D, Engineering, technical interface partners, and other key stakeholders as necessary.

At times when needed they will also provide subject matter expertise to Delivery Projects directly or via someone from their tender engineering team.

At any time a number of tenders are being prepared in parallel for multiple customers and so members of the Tender Engineering team need to manage their activities and competing priorities as necessary in consultation their direct manager, the Head of Tender Engineering.
