An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Environmental Engineer/Scientist with a strong interest in project management to join our dynamic Perth Contaminated Sites team on a full-time basis.
 
You will support technical Principals with project and commercial management, planning, co-ordination, and monitoring of multiple complex medium to large scale projects at any one time, ensuring that project and client commitments are met. You will be involved in a variety of technically challenging projects and have access to leading industry experts to mentor and guide you with the opportunity to learn from accredited contaminated sites auditors, industry leaders in risk assessment, toxicology and contaminant hydrogeology.
 
Your responsibilities may involve:
  • Environmental assessment, planning and design including baseline environmental investigations, impact assessments, environmental hazard identification and/or risk assessment, landfill and landfill gas, investigation of soil and groundwater quality;
  • Managing project controls activities including budgets, programmes, progress tracking, and variation management;
  • Working with technical leads to develop project scopes;
  • Preparing geotechnical reports, proposals and other deliverables;
  • Interpreting geotechnical data, performing analysis and drawing recommendations;
  • Managing and liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to clients regulatory authorities, technical experts, contractors and sub-contractors;
  • Managing and administering engineering contracts to drive on time, financially managed contractually sound outcomes;
  • Managing project resources, financial, technical and delivery milestones ensuring on time and on budget delivery;
  • Demonstrating excellence in the application, ensuring projects comply and are delivered in accordance with Golder Project Management systems (including project audits); processes, methods, techniques and tools; and
  • Ensuring our health and safety culture is upheld and actively encouraging safety awareness and environmental responsibility at all times.
To be successful, you will have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.With several years industry experience, you will have demonstrated experience leading project teams in delivering a range of contaminated sites projects and dealing with a variety of clients. Working in a dynamic environment, it is expected that you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to liaise with a diverse group of people across disciplines.  and substantial project controls/project management experience. Previous consulting experience will be favourable.
