Our client is a well established Engineering Consultancy who specialise in major infrastructure projects. They have an upcoming requirement for a "senior" in years attained - Bridge Engineer to join their busy Melbourne team.
They are seeking a Senior or Principal level Bridge Engineer with strong VICroads experience and the relevant VICroads prequalification/proof engineering certificate.
As well as possessing the essential proof engineering certificate, the ideal candidate will have a passion for engineering, be very technically focused and have a great understanding of VIC infrastructure projects, and be well respected in their given field.
Roles and Responsibilities of the Bridge Engineer will include
- Undertake design and engineering work for Major Road, Highway projects producing clear technical reports
- Working on VICroads projects to produce and develop structural designs for road bridges
- You will be responsible for meeting deadlines, monitoring budgets and controlling expenditure to meet your targets
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders including clients, contractors, other consultants local authorities, referral agencies and other team members
- Report writing and mentoring junior engineers.
To be considered for the role of Bridge Engineer, you will
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (or other relevant)
- 7+ years consultancy experience in VIC with considerable VICroads exposure
- Strong Concrete Structures experience for Road and Highway Bridges
- Ability to produce designs, reports, proposals and specifications to meet client requirements.
- Impeccable communication skills (written and verbal) to aid in continuous interaction with team members and outside stakeholders.
