THE PROBLEM:
You have gained some good civil design experience in a reputable Australian engineering consultancy. You have reached the 5yr mark and are concerned that you are looking at another 3-5 years doing the same role, admittedly on larger projects, before you get to show your leadership and management skills.
THE SOLUTION:
This progressive 50 staff company is growing their civil team and are looking for the next stream of mid level engineers for a pathway to become future Associates. This program has been developed by the two Directors who believe that their growth has been due to the quality of the staff and their focused development rather than volume. The selective recruitment process includes looking for potential in high level project management, client acquisition and development and staff coaching and excellence in technical design and construction supervision.
THE ROLE:
Expect to manage your own portfolio of projects as well as working on a large project alongside one of the Directors. Hailing from a multinational engineering consultancy, the Directors offer an intensive acceleration into leadership. Financial rewards come by way of project bonuses and can add up to another $10K pa at this level. Promotion into Senior brings with it profit share.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years post-graduate engineering consultancy experience with demonstrable consultancy experience in project management of civil engineering projects. You will need to be a self-motivated, technically competent individual able to work independently and direct a group of engineers and drafters. The ability to build and maintain effective client relationships with excellent communication and report writing skills is essential.
