About The Role

RDA is presently seeking a Mission Equipment (ME) Lead is responsible for working within the Defence technical Regulation of ADF Materiel system to conduct engineering activities to support the Land 400 Phase 2 Mission equipment, simulation, and training capability. The ME Lead is a key member of both the Project Management and Engineering Teams and will be required to regularly liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including the Commonwealth of Australia. 

This role is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Planning, coordinating, and monitoring Mission Equipment activities to ensure that the Land400 capability can achieve Acceptance in to Operational Service in accordance with the Contract Master Schedule and the statement of work;
  • Planning, coordinating, monitoring, and overseeing supplier development, manufacturing, integration and commissioning of the contracted Mission Equipment Systems and Test Equipment so that the requirements (demanded and expected quality within budget and according to schedule) are met;
  • Provide leadership to Land 400-P2 Mission equipment Engineering Team through effective coaching and constructive feedback on an individual and on-going basis to maximize performance and development of team members and enable them to take an active role in improving their own performance;
  • Provide leadership in the development of Contractual Deliverable and the progression through Mandated system Reviews;
  • Provide oversight of system design concepts, assist the Systems Engineering Team with specifications development and assist the V&V Manager with associated verification procedures; and,
  • Translating high level goals and outcomes identify issues or risks and incorporate these into planning, decision making and priority setting.


About You

As the successful applicant you will have previous experience in the following areas:

  • Achieving Acceptance in to Operational Service at the System level;
  • Conducting Mandated System Reviews;
  • System Engineering and System Safety Engineering;
  • Managing sub-contractor and reviewing their deliverables;
  • Hardware and software development/design, integration and test of Tactical Data Management Systems, Combat systems, Electronic Warfare Systems and/or C4I systems; and,
  • The use of simulation in the training environment.
NB. The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to Bremen, Germany for up to 2 years and then relocate to either Brisbane or Adelaide.
