About The Role

RDA is presently seeking a Hardware Engineer (Simulation) to be responsible for the implementation of the Simulation Hardware unit according to predefined framework conditions. This role assumes operational management for its development and will plan, coordinate, monitor and oversee the suppliers' development and manufacturing process as well as system integration with regard to the assigned Simulation HW unit.

This role is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Assist with planning, coordinating, monitoring, and overseeing supplier development, manufacturing, integration, and commissioning of the contracted Simulation System HW, so that the requirements (demanded and expected quality within budget and according to schedule) are met;
  • Proactively involved with determining the hardware architecture of the simulation components;
  • Locate, interpret, and ensure that relevant product design standards are implemented;
  • Liaising with key stakeholders, including customers and suppliers, to elicit requirements then develop designs through to manufacturable product specifications;
  • Work with simulation system providers to achieve an effective integrated solution;
  • Development of engineering documentation and configuration management of system infrastructure;
  • Work with simulation and training services teams to assist with the successful roll out all Simulation and Training systems in ensure that products are accepted into operational service; and,
  • Assist with business development in simulation and training related activities.

As the successful applicant you will have:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (mechatronics/mechanical engineering) or equivalent;
  • Expertise in system architecture and 3D Design engineering of complex mechatronic systems;
  • Expertise in Requirements Engineering; and,
  • Understanding of Australian regulations (including Safety, ACMA and EMI).

 

NB. The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to Bremen, Germany (approx. up to 2 years) initially, and then relocate to either Brisbane or Adelaide.
