The Role
Advance the capability of the business and Channel Partners Sales and Product Specialists teams. Responsible for delivering technical and sales training in the Integrated Architecture space. Accountable for ensuring that the training material utilized conforms to the AP standard. Responsible for the on-going maintenance and up-keep of all the Customer Experience Centre and Competency Centre equipment including software, hardware and infra-structure support. Deliver technical, commercial and engineering leadership in the application engineering and software space to enable customer success. This includes sales engagement, application expertise and evidence of concept support. Provide technical support and advice to Technical Consultants, Solution Architects, SI’s and end customers in the design of complex system solutions (application engineering). Develop relationships and work closely with various internal groups including Automaton Sales, local sales support groups, and the global Commercial Engineering organization.
Key responsibilities:
1. Demonstrate effective knowledge in the industrial automation hardware and software space and develop a presence and reputation as the technical and application expert in the region.
2. Good analytical capability in problem solving and analysing multiple solutions.
3. Proactively engage with the sales channel on major customer opportunities requiring application assistance. In conjunction with other members of team, identify opportunities and recommend solutions to leverage additional services.
4. Maintain a detailed understanding of the business benefits that can be delivered through Automation Software and Solutions and participate in the development and delivery of solutions that add value to customers.
5. Work with the global Commercial Engineering team with product development to expedite resolutions and drive product enhancements, patches, etc.
6. Assist AP Business Managers to develop appropriate training and development programs.
7. Maintain a general broad understanding of service and solution offerings across all of Automation Product and Solutions portfolio.
Candidate Requirements
An Engineering Degree in Electronics, Instrumentation and Industrial Automation, Information Technology, and a minimum of 10 years equivalent relevant field experience.
2. Formal Business qualifications would be well regarded.
3. Moderate travel and time away from home is involved. It is also anticipated that some proportion of time will be spent on customer sites.
