Our work focuses on reducing emissions from high energy intensity industries, such as electricity generation, steel and cement manufacturing, and gas processing. Currently we have invested more than $100 million to lead Australia’s effort to introduce CCS to meet the demands of a global industrial market.

 

About the role:

CO2CRC is committed to maintain its leading role in technological advancement of CCS industry. As such our Capture program continues to expand, driving our need for the newly developed Process Engineer position.  Apart from process engineering expertise, the nature of our projects demands strong project management proficiency throughout the project lifecycle - from project inception to implementation.

 

Main tasks of the Process Engineer will cover conceptual design and simulation, through construction and commissioning into operation of carbon capture projects. With oversight from the Capture Manager, the Process Engineer will be responsible for simulation, technical review, managing and reporting on the assigned capture project/s, including the effective management of any external contractors.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensuring that all modelling/simulation/design work is executed efficiently and to a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ensuring that all process engineering design and implementation is of professional Australian standards
  • Ensuring proper assistance to Management is given during supervision of construction, commissioning and operation phases of each assigned project.
  • Ensuring that project reports and due diligence are maintained with high professional standards.
  • Ensuring high quality team work, project interfaces and liaison with capture team and other stakeholders such as operators, site managers, etc are managed effectively.
  • Ensuring CO2CRC's mission and vision is upheld.

 

Skills and Experience:

Mandatory:

(please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements):

  • Minimum 2 years’ Process engineering experience, with knowledge and exposure to various Carbon Capture technologies.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience using process engineering simulation software, i.e. ASPEN, HYSIS etc., for designing and upscaling technologies
  • A Bachelor of Engineering or higher

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on plant operational experience
  • Knowledge/ exposure to engineering economy / techno-economic study of a capture technology
  • Technical report writing experience
