The Opportunity – Superintendent Mining Approvals

Based at the Innovation Campus and reporting to the Manager Support Services, you will be responsible for the leadership, governance, planning and implementation of the approvals activities and projects required to ensure the future of the mining operations. As a leader of the approvals team.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Oversee and actively lead the Approvals team for optimal approvals practices and solutions;
  • Deliver approvals planning strategies, analysis and scheduling into the mine planning process;
  • Identify, manage and mitigate risks of delays in the approvals process;
  • Government interface and liaison for approvals;
  • Interface with the medium and long-term planning teams to ensure coordinated and integrated planning of the approvals process;
  • Compliance to Planning budget and other administrative requirements;
  • Interact with Mine Planning, Operations & South32 peers, and external consultants and peers.

About You

  • Environmental Engineering Degree or similar qualification
  • Significant proven experience in approvals planning and management within a NSW Mining environment (other environments considered)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders across all levels of the business
  • Previous experience in Project Management activities
  • 10 years' experience within a similar role
