About the Role
WorkPac are currently seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers for a shutdown in Gladstone. Day shift and night shift available, working 12hr days on a 6 day roster. Accommodation is available for applicants who aren't local.
Roster
- Shutdown Prep: 13th to 17th August: 8hr day, 7am start
- Shutdown Execution: 20 Aug to roughly 18th September: 5:20am/pm to 6:10am/pm
End date may be extended by up to 3 or 4 days depending on shutdown progress against schedule. Persons engaged will be expected to continue working until the completion of the shutdown, then have a fatigue day if required before working an additional 8hr day to provide handover/closeout notes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of tracking sheets, checksheets and workstation setup prior to the shutdown.
- Reviewing and responding to defects identified on pressure vessel inspections and writing repair instructions
- Inspecting flash tank underflow spools for visible signs of erosion
- Inspecting flange faces
- PSV removal and installation checks, i.e. correct PSV installed in correct location with correct set pressure.
- Attend pre-starts, critical path, and engineering handover meetings
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)
- Applicants experienced with pressure piping and pressure vessels (design and fitness for service) will be considered first.
- Or applicants with Shutdown Completions, QA/QC or Welding Supervision will also be considered.
- Ability to pass a Full Pre Employment Medical including D&A Screen
