Council is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic civil or environmental engineer to join its Stormwater & Waterway Assets team.

About the role

The position supports the Stormwater & Waterway Assets team in implementing actions outlined in Council’s four year Delivery Program, annual Operational Plans and the business unit plan for Asset Management Services. 

You will assist in the sustainable management of the Shire's catchments, floodplains, stormwater drainage network and waterways.  Specifically, you will assist in managing projects and programs associated with Council’s stormwater, floodplain and waterway management programs, providing specialist flooding and water quality related advice on development applications, responding to customer requests, and maintaining and improving Council’s stormwater and waterway asset management system.

Salary range:  $82,570 - $87,524  gross p.a. + 9.5% superannuation. A Civil Liability allowance may also be offered.

This is a permanent full time position working 35 hours per week 19 day month flexitime arrangement (flexible working arrangements may be considered for the right applicant).

About you

Along with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil or Environmental) and driver licence you will have a sound understanding of integrated urban water management, excellent communication skills, and relevant experience in stormwater and floodplain management.

You will be forward thinking, proactive and be open to sharing new ideas.  You will also be able to demonstrate a commitment to upholding Council’s core values.
