Our Opportunity
Thales Underwater Systems (UWS) is a global leader in advanced Sonar systems and for more than 2 decades has been responsible for delivering systems to both civilian and military customers. We are currently seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team.

You will play a key role in our team of highly skilled professionals, you will manage the Project/Customer requirements during the Integration, Verification, Validation, and Qualification (IVVQ) phase of the Systems Engineering level lifecycle.

Responsibilities
- Requirements verification/validation analysis at the customer and product level for designated Thales Australia Underwater Systems Projects
- Managing the systems development of compliance matrices and system verification processes for designated projects
- Management of requirements (existing and in development) 
- Preparation of Systems Engineering documentation including but not limited to Verification and Validation Plans (V&VP)
- You will participate in Project/Product design review milestones as part of the Project/Product development and test processes
- Management of test baselines including the planning and execution of Integration and Test schedules
- Participate in informal and formal qualification activities including the preparation of Acceptance Test Plans and Procedures, Acceptance Test Reports (ATR) and Verification Cross Reference Matrices as part of the Integration, Verification, Validation, and Qualification phase of Project/Product lifecycles
About You
- Engineering/Science Degree qualified - able to meet the requirements for membership of The Institution of Engineers Australia (IEAust)
- Demonstrated experience in hardware and/or software product development, systems engineering and IVVQ of system of systems
- You will present with experience in large scale integrated system design and development ideally in the following domains: combat systems, Sonar systems, communications systems
- Experience of systems operational test and evaluation
- Sonar system design, development operational test and evaluation experience is highly desirable though not essential 
- Exposure to DOORS/TREK systems for requirements management
- Use of architecture frameworks – Department of Defence Architecture Framework (DODAF), Australian Defence Architecture Framework (AUSDAF)
Special Requirements
To apply for this role you must be eligible for a Defence Security Clearance. You may need to be ITARS cleared; therefore Thales need to know if you hold any other passport other than Australian, or have dual citizenship.
