The Opportunity – Projects Engineer

Based at the Innovation Campus, the purpose of the Projects Engineer is to provide specialised engineering technical support and expertise for the operation and to manage defined tasks associated with modifications and small projects in accordance with relevant processes, standards and performance targets.

Key Accountabilities include:

• Single point accountability for management of the portfolio of engineering projects across the operation. Ensure that project plans and executed work is scheduled, integrated and tracked to realise benefits and value.
• Collaborate with the Change Coordinator and Project Owners to ensure change management plans are thorough, robust, identify all risks and are developed in accordance with site procedures
• Provide engineering expertise and consultative support to the Operation to ensure timely execution of defined tasks associated with modifications and small projects
• Work closely with Operational, Maintenance and Project execution teams to ensure that projects are delivered fit for purpose with alignment with business and operational requirements to defined quality level
• Regularly engage in proactive safety initiatives and keep records of these
• Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring portfolio of engineering projects
• Ensure relevant Coordinators and Shift Supervisors are aware of daily work plans and activities within work areas

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
• Project Management Qualification
• 5+ years’ experience in Engineering function
• Experience in Contract Management
• Previous experience being responsible for budgets at project level

Location

Illawarra Coal operations are located in the southern coalfields of New South Wales, near the city of Wollongong and approximately 75 kilometres south and southwest of Sydney.
