The High Capacity Metro Trains (HCMT) Project is a Victorian Government initiative and a $2.8 billion investment in Victoria’s rolling stock industry. An opportunity has become available for a Safety Engineering Manager to provide guidance in the development, implementation, monitoring and review of the Project Safety Assurance systems to both Senior management and staff. This position will provide Rail (Product) Safety risk management and related legal compliance expertise and will assist the Major Projects team to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and Downer expectations.
This Role is ideally suited to candidates with a minimum on 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role within the Rail Rolling Stock Manufacturing sector.
About you:
- Tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety and Environment Management, Risk Management or closely related field.
- Heavy Engineering qualification, or
- 3/5 years’ experience in the rail manufacturing or related industry
- Lead auditor and investigator qualifications
- Experience in safety case development
- Experience in supporting the delivery of major rail projects.
