Project Manager

My client is looking for a Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience to join their team.

Responsibilities will include:

• Liaise with the customer (Maritime -ISREW- (SPO)) to scope, budget and schedule all Operational Support task requests;
• Oversee the day to day tasking of the Operational Support Teams located at Fleet Base West and East (future) on undertaking authorised repair, maintenance and system installation support activities;
• Managing and reporting on Help Desk support activities, and ensure Urgent Defects are addressed within specified response times;
• Tasking and overseeing work assigned to Approved Subcontractors and Vendors/OEMs (on S&Q Basis) as directed by the ISS Program Manager;
• Overseeing the utilisation of the Supply Chain and Service/Maintenance modules of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System used to manage Contractor Managed Commonwealth Assets (CMCA) and all maintenance tasks on Repairable Items (RIs);
• Overseeing the management of obsolescence monitoring and reporting activities and providing support to the ISS Project Engineer in the development of solutions to resolve obsolescence issues;
• Providing input as directed by the ISS Program Manager to Contract Status Reports;
• Ensuring that the ISS team adheres to the UEAS standard engineering tools and processes during all Operating and Maintenance support activities;
• Overseeing the preparation and delivery of all contract technical CDRLs related to Operating, Maintenance and Supply Support;
• Managing the Project technical scope related to Operating, Maintenance and Supply Support activities to deliver the project outcomes on time and within the project cost baseline;
• Assist the ISS Program Manager to monitor and manage project technical risks, developing appropriate mitigation strategies to meet project delivery requirements.

Key Competency Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in Performance Based Sustainment Management processes in an Australian Defence environment;
• Ability to lead a multi-disciplined support team to deliver quality outcomes on time and within cost constraints;
• Working knowledge and experience in using MILIS and SIMS;
• Well-developed communication skills and a demonstrated experience in customer management;
• Demonstrated commitment to Work Health and Safety (WHS) procedures and practices.

Qualification & Experience:

• At least 5 year's overall experience in delivering In-Service Support solutions to Defence (and preferably, Maritime) for complex electronic systems;
• At least 3 year's experience in a sustainment management role
• Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience, in Engineering (ideally Electronic); and
• Substantial familiarity with the processes and Engineering governance requirements in the development and sustainment of products for the Australian Defence Organisation.
• Hold a Defence security clearance of at least NV1.
