Client & Engineer:

Specialist company that design industrial engineering equipment requires Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their team. 

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will liaise with clients, external stakeholders and manage your own assignments from initial concept through to completion, overseeing 3d drafts and 3d designs while working closely with production and manufacturing teams.     

Position will involve Mechanical and Structural design improvements, new product development and sub system development as well as project management and leadership.  VA/VE, FEA knowledge would be advantageous.  This position will involve occasional site visits to central QLD mines to assist clients and help maintain and improve the performance of their products.   
  

Daily, your role will involve:

• Design & project ownership
• Review technical specs, offer project engineering support
• Lead and drive your allocated project from a technical standpoint
• Develop, check and revise 3D CAD models of belts, pulleys, gears, cogs, conveyors, structural walkways, P&I’s, isometric piping designs
• Oversee designs and drafts from more junior employees
• Develop from initial concept through to completion 3D CAD models with Inventor  
• Produce 2D steel fabricated drawings as and when required
• Visit sites to scope out work
• VE/VE Engineering
• Prepare quotes for your assigned clients, manage BOMs
• Plan to make ensure project work is completed within time and budgets
• Work closely with other engineering departments to ensure projects are completed within allocated time and budgets
• Participate in Design, Manufacturing and Assembly review meetings
• Present to board members abroad
• Ensure all designs meet relevant global standards

To apply you will have:

• Full working rights in Australia
• Degree educated and 10 years leading industrial design projects  
• Multi-skilled mechanical / structural design
• Deep knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical design and engineering
• Must be a Team Player
• Must have excellent communication skills
