Your role

Your role will support our innovation, R&D and product development teams in the electronics design of a range of illumination and auto electrical consumer products, from concept development through to manufacture. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is creative, enjoys challenges and gets satisfaction seeing ideas come to life in real world situations. You will be working alongside a vibrant team of enthusiastic and dedicated professionals.

The Electronics Software Engineer reports directly to the Senior Operations and Engineering Manager.

 Duties of the Electronics Software Engineer

• Design, implement and test software for embedded devices
• Testing and Design verification of electronic assemblies and finished products
• Assist with the design and development of End of Line functional test jigs
• Hardware development, prototype, test and evaluation.
• Complete product verification and validation.
• Product compliance research and testing.
• Manufacturing and supply chain support
• Provide technical support to Production Department as required
• Assist with R&D activities and product concepts

• Provide comprehensive pre and post-sales, technical and engineering support for Lightforce products.

In order for your application to be considered, you must have:

• 5 – 10 years’ experience in electronic product design.
• Experienced in design for manufacture and test.
• Altium eCAD - Schematic & PCB development.
• Management of external consultants and suppliers.
• Circuit simulation.
• Practical test & debug, using lab equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators etc.
• Solid programming experience in C++ is mandatory

Desirable Skills

• Experience in RF development - 433MHz - 2.4GHz.
• Electrical & RF Compliance experience.
• Knowledge of primary & secondary battery chemistries.
• LED Characterisation.
• Experience in design for harsh outdoor environments, with vibration and impact loadings
• Experience in Bluetooth and CAN BUS systems

• Working knowledge in App development
• Working knowledge in product compliance within the Automotive and Military space

The successful applicant will possess:

• Qualification in Electrical/Electronic or Software Engineering discipline
• The ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
• A desire to be hands on and take on multiple and varied tasks as part of a small team.
• The ability to manage multiple projects/tasks
• Excellent intrapersonal and interpersonal skills
• Experience in working within Quality frameworks including ISO9001
• Ability to work through and solve engineering issues with minimal supervision.

 Special Conditions

• Recent Police Clearance/Criminal History Check (no older than 6 months)
• Must be prepared to undertake psychometric testing
• Must be prepared to contribute to KPI development and work towards agreed KPI
