The company
Our client is on the verge of releasing a world first patented product that has the potential to reshape the entire industry. The business was formed several years ago with a stable platform for development and now with the engineering capability nearing completion there has arisen a need to bring in further specialists into the engineering function for current and future development. Our client is looking to take on a highly experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to join the team based in Perth.
  
The role
Reporting into the General Manager and leading the electrical engineering team your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and overseeing the electrical design team to deliver a world first and patented product through the commissioning, testing and validation phase.
• Drive the concept development of the future product pipeline in line with their patented technology and identify new markets and design opportunities.
• Project manage the current and NPD portfolio in conjunction with the broader engineering group and offer technical support across the business.
• Support the broader business on improving their ability to design for manufacture
• Technical liaison to customers and stakeholders across the project.
• Support and training of engineering talent within the business to build up overall capability and skill set of neighbouring engineers.

Your background
In order to be successful in this role, you will be:

• Degree qualified in Engineering; Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronics or Software Engineering will be most desirable.
• Ideally someone that has experience leading an engineering product development group with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Robotics experience highly desirable.
• Must have strong experience in electrical design and product development across circuit design and circuit breakers and experience with AC/DC
• Must have experience with 3 phase distribution and harmonics frequencies
• Specifying, selecting and sizing servo drives and motors would be highly desirable.
