Serco Defence division is a complex project management and systems integrator provider to the military, paramilitary and security markets. Serco Defence meets the demands of diverse maritime projects and sets the benchmark for specialist maritime support services.
Based at Garden Island, Sydney, these Internships will commence in August 2018 for a period of approximately 6 months, which will be negotiated with the successful appointment. The opportunity will allow a candidate to gain valuable ‘coalface’ experience in the Marine Engineering industry and insight into asset management.
Reporting to an assigned Engineering Supervisor, as an Undergraduate Intern you will be a valuable contributor to the maintenance and engineering support function and will be responsible for providing technical support to a variety of Maritime design support activities across fields of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture.
If successful for this incredible opportunity, you will see your day filled with:
- Conducting technical tasking and providing technical support for all planned and corrective maintenance activity
- Supporting technical investigations and problem resolution
- Liaising and coordinating with service suppliers
- Joining relevant working groups as a subject matter expert
To be considered for this placement, you will have evidence of at least 3 years progression towards your Engineering Degree with demonstrated appreciation and interest in the Marine Engineering environment. You will also have the flexibility and eagerness to adapt to changing priorities, high levels of both written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships within the business.
Applicants must satisfy eligibility requirements to be granted a Commonwealth security clearance.
