Client:

Working with our client in the light rail network industry.

Role:

Manage multidisciplinary infrastructure projects of small to medium scale, delivering Annual Works Plan, Major Capital Improvement and Enhanced Renewal projects associated with track, power, overhead and facilities service delivery.

To support service delivery Infrastructure Function requirements, deliver contractual commitments with PTV and facilitate other projects impacting on the Melbourne Tram System.

  Experience:
  
  • Must possess an appropriate Degree, Advanced Diploma or proven industry experience
  
  • Proven experience with a multi-functional organisation in the engineering or transport environment.
  
  • Knowledge of contracts and contracting arrangements within the private and public sector.
  
  • Experience in tender bid evaluation and selection processes.
  
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of OHS&E legislative requirements and individual duty of care.
  
  • Understanding of discrimination, harassment and workplace bullying issues.
  
  • Understanding of the principles of business development and the interaction between contracts, operations and commercial outcomes.
  
  • Awareness and commitment to quality and risk management concepts.
  
  • Understands own personal style and demonstrates a history of setting and monitoring goals for project delivery.
  
  • Ability to understand Contractual Franchise Commitments in relation to delivery of works
  
  Responsibilities:
  
  • Work with design consultants to achieve best fit solutions to renewals and achieve design outcomes.
  
  • Build and maintain effective cross organisational working relationships to facilitate delivery. Manage and escalate or repair cross organisational roadblocks as appropriate to achieve delivery outcomes.
  
  • Build and maintain contractor and client relationships both internally and externally.
  
  • Respect managerial leadership boundaries and manage issue resolution before escalation.
  
  • Identify gaps in KSE of project support staff and recommend controls
  
  • Work with stakeholders including Councils, Vic Roads, Public Utilities and Corporate Communications and Marketing to deliver project outcomes
  
  • Provide project reports to demonstrate achievement in meeting deliverables, particularly budget and schedule and briefing internal and external stakeholders.
