Boeing Defence Australia is recruiting for the position of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Avionics (Independent) located at RAAF Base Williamtown.

The Avionics Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Independent) is responsible for providing independent maintenance inspections for the Maintenance, Modification, Inspection, Testing and Troubleshooting of F/A-18 Avionic systems and associated equipment within the scope of their applicable training, competency and task authorization.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with OHS and EHS policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are conducted and recorded IAW approved Aircraft Maintenance Documentation processes and procedures.
  • Ensuring Tradespersons and Supervisors do not proceed past inspection check points until inspected. 

To be successful you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics), or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years aviation experience in maintenance of aircraft and has at least 2 years' experience as a fully qualified trade supervisor on Aircraft type
  • Demonstrated success in the development of effective working relationships within a complex organisational structure to meet team, business unit and organisational goals.
