Project Engineer – Campbelltown Rd upgrade

Burton Contractors has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $40m Campbelltown Road Project.  Contract works are for the upgrading of the existing road to a dual carriageways over a length of 1.2km from east of Town Centre Road to west of new Macdonald Road, Campbelltown. 

Key features of the project include:

  • Retaining wall Construction,-
  • Provision of 3 new signalised intersections;
  • Major utility relocations including recycled and potable water mains, gas mains, street lighting and electrical infrastructure, telecommunications and the construction of ITS infrastructure
  • Roadworks including erosion and sedimentation, clearing and grubbing, earthworks (including the provision of a controlled subgrade layer), stormwater and subsurface drainage and pavement construction;

Burton Contractors is now seeking an experienced Project Engineer with previous RMS experience to form part of the site team in the project delivery.

The Project Engineer is expected to provide sound technical support in the delivery of project outcomes reporting directly to the Project Manager, controlling the administrative functions of the job, while providing a support link to the Site Supervisors.

Co-ordinating, monitoring and management of subcontractors to meet program, implement the most efficient and effective construction methodology while continue to apply best practice.

Application of Work Health & Safety, Environmental Management and Quality Systems is expected. Unit Cost Analysis, preparation of cost claims and contract notices are essential aspects of this job function.

The successful candidate:

  • Will possess a Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • RMS experience
  • Have relevant experience working in civil construction industry.
  • Have the ability to read / interpret plans
  • Highly effective planning, organising and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
