Leading national renewable energy and carbon abatement company LMS ENERGY requires the services of an Electrical Engineer to be based in Adelaide, South Australia. You will be required to report to the Senior Electrical Engineer where your role will primarily involve the design and commissioning of electrical power generation equipment and associated ancillary devices.  

Responsibilities:

• Design of generating plant for the purpose of generating high voltage (HV) into local network systems in accordance with electrical standards and relevant state and statutory guidelines
• Develop, mark-up and or modify electrical drawings such as single line diagrams, protection diagrams, control panel schematics and P&ID’s
• Produce calculations and compile relevant design documentation
• Preparation of Scopes of Work, equipment specifications, data sheets and instrumentation setting sheets 
• Design and selection of primary electrical plant including HV switchgear, Transformers and HV Cables and the design and selection of secondary systems including CTs, VTs, protection devices and tariff metering
• Electrical design of earthing systems, protection systems, fault level analysis and cable sizing along with the development of control panels and distribution systems 
• Develop communication and control systems using SCADA, PLC and HMI using Modbus protocols
• Preparation of material and cable schedules, component sourcing and technical reports
• Conduct Risk Management through preparation of risk assessments and HAZOP’s
• Provision of operational support through implementing improvements, maintenance planning, troubleshooting and fault finding
• Develop commissioning plans, checklists, schedules, conduct testing and verification 
• Provide project management methods in managing to schedules and controlling costs
• Knowledge of hazardous area design applicable to Australian standards and codes
• Knowledge of OHS requirements applicable to the electrical industry
• Liaise with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure design compliance and timely delivery of projects
• On-site testing and commissioning and the provision of technical support to the Operations and Construction Groups
• Co-ordinate and supervise sub-contractors through installation and commissioning phases

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree 
• Minimum of 7+ years in the power generation, gas, renewable or energy industry
• Possess sound written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrate a strong safety discipline in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Display initiative through self-management in an autonomous environment
• Occasional interstate travel to support site operational requirements or new projects
