The Project Planner (PP) provides the conduit and timely coordination of the work package
between the Project Team and the Planning Department. The primary purposes of the role are
to manage development and changes to the approved project work scope, and ensure the
Planning Department project milestones are delivered or exceeded iaw end to end schedule
requirements.
The PP is the “lead” planner coordinating all tasks within the allocated work package required to be performed for the
specified maintenance availability. The PP reports direct to the Project Manager as part of the
project team assembled to manage a project.
Responsibilities:
- Coordination and ongoing development of Maintenance Availability Work Packages
(MAWP) iaw allocated project end to end milestones. Take “ownership” of allocated
project package. - Conduct ongoing reviews of the MAWP, ensuring the work package is lean and there is no
duplication of work scope and tasks within the work package. - Ensure all Project Planning services are delivered in accordance with the E2E process /
milestones (or better) and are provided in a format required by downstream customers. - Conduct impact assessment of Maintenance Availability Work Packages (MAWP) as a
result of integration of modifications to work packages resulting from work package
updates including; CCI’s, CCP’s, PDR’s, SG2’s, URDEF’s etc etc - Continuous improvement and adherence to the Submarine Planning Corporate
Management System processes, internal work instructions and other processes required
by the Project Management Plan.6. Coordination of Planning department services as required by the allocated Project.
Qualifications, Technical Competency, Skills, and Experience (Essential)
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral
- Experience in project management disciplines such as MRP & Primavera
- Conversant in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems.
- Tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline or trade qualification.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and associated work instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex, technical issues to a range of audiences.
- Proven Supervisory and Leadership skills combined with the ability to work in a Team
environment with limited supervision. - Previous Planning experience at trade or project level
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office, Word and Excel
