Our client, CDP Waste2Energy (CDP W2E) are a rapidly expanding waste-to-energy company using technology to revolutionise sustainable waste management and energy production all while committing to have a positive impact on the environment and communities in which they operate. 

CDP W2E was established to commercialise technology it had developed to efficiently convert a variety of feedstocks such as municipal, construction and industry waste or coal, to high quality diesel. They have developed the innovative system to convert materials containing hydrocarbons (such as waste plastics) to high quality diesel. Currently CDP W2E is particularly relevant for communities, public authorities, governments and energy and resources corporations that aim to achieve energy security while enhancing economic, environmental and social value through their specialisation in project specific design to clients. 

Currently their technical team is in a period of unprecedented growth and as a result are seeking applications from suitable experienced Process Engineer candidates with a background in facilities. This is a challenging role newly created in the business providing a genuine opportunity for career development whilst collaborating with an experienced team on world first projects in the energy sector. 

This role is critical in the providing of design and operational process engineering support across the CDP business. The successful candidate will demonstrate an extensive background and understanding in plant design and commissioning.

Your role will involve, but not be limited to the following:

  • Developing, designing, commissioning and optimising industrial process from inception to implementation and certification;

  • Support of manufacturing operations to ensure high quality standards;

  • Detailed design for plant fabrication requirements;

  • Overseeing commissioning and early operations;

  • Incorporation of the latest research developments in to plant designs;

  • Involvement in the development of best practice including innovations to improve production rates and output quality. 

Ideally you will have the following to be successful in this role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in process or chemical engineering;

  • RPEQ/NER accreditation;

  • Ideally 7+ years’ industry experience ideally in the provision of technical support in a process and/or manufacturing environment;

  • Experience in controls design & commissioning of a new plant;

  • Previous exposure to the oil & gas or waste management industries is essential;

  • Ability to travel both domestic and internationally as required.
