The Role
 
An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced Site Engineer to join the Fenner Dunlop Team. Reporting to the Sales Engineer Manager you will be responsible for measuring and monitoring conveyor systems on site, analysing and evaluate the existing process and develop recommendations that will minimise risks, costs, wastage, increase yields, productivity and improve quality.
 
Critical to this position is the ability to project manage, meet deadlines and strategic objectives as well as building relationships with key stakeholders and clients.  The position will require flexibility as the candidate will be working across two sites Cape Lambert and Dampier.
 
This is no ordinary engineering role – you need to be passionate about the industry, have a drive to succeed and deliver world class service to our customers.
 
To be successful in this position you will need to ensure conveyor solutions meet customer expectations in the areas of safety, quality, financial service and operational performance. Identifying significant efficiencies, problem solving, trouble shooting and technical support are a part of this role.
 
Key responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for measuring and monitoring conveyor systems on sites
  • Lead contact for all customer account matters and be responsible for engaging and escalating issues
  • Support and advise operational, service or product situations to our customers
  • Responsible for project management and ensure flexibility while working on projects with other clients
  • Develop business plan and objectives, develop and implement actions and initiates that will positively impact the accounts safety, financial and operational performance
  • Prepare reports, Monitor, evaluate and report on the accounts overall performance and KPIs
  • Establish and monitor targets in operational standards, safety, financial performance, quality and costs associated with downtime and reliability
  • Represent the organisation as required at relevant formal meetings and working groups/committees
  • Develop and maintain strategic business relationships with existing and potential major accounts to promote service offering and profitable ongoing business relationships
  • Ensure all the organisation’s activities comply with relevant legislation, internal company policies and procedures and ethical standards 
What you need: 
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Advanced knowledge of conveyor systems; conveyor components, belt maintenance or belt splicing, including rubber lining.
  • Minimum 2 years leading and managing projects including scope and execution
  • Minimum 5 years working in a mining; manufacturing or conveyor product or service industry
  • Proven experience managing key commercial accounts
  • Basic quality and OHS process and procedures
  • Basic tender response management experience
  • High end reporting writing and analysis skills
  • Previous experience with Epicor or similar ERP/SAP system
  • Must have ability to complete manual engineering calculations
  • Ability and willingness to travel - for FIFO candidates a 4/3 roster will apply.
