Paratus Group is a Mackay based company that services the Mining, Sugar, Agricultural, Water and Port sectors in the Mackay and surrounding areas. 

About the role

Reporting directly to the Projects Manager you will have the responsibility of leading a small team assisting them with your technical knowledge, a lot of the time you will be on a job by yourself so you must be able to work alone and have the confidence to make a call to finish a job. 

Duties will include;

• Delegating tasks to the appropriate team members
• Assisting team members with technical information and providing guidance with the best way to complete a task
• Site visits to obtain measurements for jobs
• Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers
• Assist with job estimations and job planning
• Quoting small jobs
• Supervise and assist with the training and development of other tradespersons or apprentices
•  Building relationships with existing and perspective clients   

Key Skills;

• Trade certified (both Mechanical Trades with some Boiler making / welding experience OR Boilermakers with a mechanical aptitude will be considered)
• Current drivers licence
• Self motivated and able to work alone
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings
• Time management skills
• Basic computer skills
• Good attention to detail
• Looking to develop a long term career  
• Any other tickets and certificates will also be considered in the screening process (dogging, rigging, EWP, etc.)
